For a long time, I’ve been thinking about what it means to build a sustainable creative life, one where I can be present for my daughter, my family, and my art practice all at once. As I prepared for an upcoming art fair and started figuring out how to fund prints, materials, and production costs, I kept coming back to one question: What would it look like to let community be part of the journey?
Athletes have sponsors. Nonprofits have patrons. Big brands invest heavily to bring their ideas into the world. And I thought, why shouldn’t independent artists have something like that too?
So I created The Coping Nook Sponsorship Program, a way for the people who connect with my work to directly support the growth of my art practice at @thecopingnook and become part of what I’m building.
Because truthfully, being an artist right now can feel incredibly fragile. We’re living in a time where algorithms move faster than humans,
AI-generated content floods our feeds, and making slow, intentional, human-made work can sometimes feel like swimming upstream.
But I still believe deeply in art made by real people with real stories behind it. And I believe community is how we protect that.
This program isn’t just about helping me produce more work or get to the next fair, though it absolutely helps make those things possible. It’s about investing in a real person and supporting a creative life rooted in presence, care, expression, and connection.
So whether you’ve collected my work before, love what I’m building but have run out of wall space, or simply believe human creativity deserves to be nurtured and sustained, this is a way to be part of that story with me

Please read before sponsoring at the Branch or Bloom level
This is not a traditional commission. When you sponsor at the Branch or Bloom level, you are investing in my practice and receiving an original work made with your palette in mind — not a painting built to spec. There are no revisions, no previews before completion, and no guaranteed outcome beyond the care and craft I bring to every piece.
Sponsorships are non-refundable. Because your contribution goes directly toward sustaining this practice, all sponsorships are final.
What if it doesn't feel right for your space? I understand that abstract art can be unpredictable — that's also what makes it alive. If the piece truly doesn't work for your space, reach out within 14 days of receiving it. I'll offer a one-time exchange credit toward a future print or smaller piece. This is a goodwill gesture, not a guarantee — and it's available once per sponsor.
Spots are limited. Custom pieces are capped at 3 per tier per month to protect the quality of this practice. If spots are full, you'll be added to the next available month.
Note on taxes: Sponsorship contributions to an individual artist are not tax deductible. Your contribution is gratefully received as support for an independent creative practice.

I'll send a short note asking about your color direction — warm, cool, neutral, earth tones — and where you plan to hang the piece. That's it. No mood boards, no sketches, no back and forth.

Your piece is created within 30 days. My style is my style — abstract, layered, intentional. You chose the palette direction. The rest is mine to interpret. That's the beauty of it.

Before I ship, I'll send you a photo. Not for approval — for the moment. You'll see what grew from the seed you planted.
