Moments In Grief 1

$3,000.00

Original Abstract Painting

Acrylic on stretched canvas
48” x 36”
2025

The first painting in the Moments in Grief collection, Moments in Grief 1 marks the beginning of The Coping Nook's first fully realized body of work.

Created during a deeply reflective season of my life following the birth of my daughter, this painting began an exploration of the quiet, often conflicting emotions that accompany life's biggest transitions, whether that's becoming a parent, pivoting careers, grieving the loss of a loved one, or navigating any new chapter of life.

Through layered color, movement, and intuitive mark-making, the painting reflects how grief can exist alongside hope, resilience, and the slow process of becoming someone new. It became the foundation for a collection that continues to evolve, including the later Another Moment in Grief & Guilt series, each piece inviting new perspectives on what it means to grow through life's transitions.

Created without a predetermined outcome, the work leaves room for your own story. Rather than offering a fixed interpretation, it invites moments of reflection, serving as a reminder that growth is rarely linear and that even life's most uncertain seasons can hold beauty, meaning, and possibility.

Whether displayed in a home, office, or quiet corner, this piece was created as an invitation to slow down, reconnect with your humanity, and remain present with the parts of yourself that everyday life can make easy to overlook.
